Minimum Capital Requirements of Joint Stock and Limited Liability Companies Increased
With the Presidential Decree No. 7887 ["Decree"] published in the Official Gazette dated 25.11.2023 and numbered 32380, the minimum capital requirements for joint stock and limited liability companies in the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102 were increased. Accordingly, the minimum capital requirement for companies to be established as of 1 January 2024 will be 250,000 TL for joint stock companies and 50,000 TL for limited liability companies.
In addition, the initial capital of companies that accept the registered capital system and are not publicly traded will not be less than 500,000 TL.
Existing companies are not obliged to adapt their capital to the new amounts, but are recommended to increase their capital in order to strengthen their equity structure.
